Beena Ammanath is a global thought leader in AI ethics and an award-winning senior technology executive with extensive global experience in AI and digital transformation. Her work has spanned leadership roles in e-commerce, finance, marketing, telecom, retail, software products, service, and industrial domains. She is the Executive Director of the Global Deloitte AI Institute and leads Trustworthy AI and Ethical Technology at Deloitte.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Beena served as the CTO for AI at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where she created a new practice area focused on AI and emerging technologies. Before this, she was the head of Data Science and Innovation at General Electric, working across all GE businesses, including aviation, transportation, healthcare, power, energy and renewables, and oil and gas.
Her other prior work includes leadership roles at companies including Thomson Reuters, British Telecom, Bank of America, e*trade, and a number of Silicon Valley startups.
Beena is the founder of the non-profit Humans for AI, an organization dedicated to increasing diversity in the field of artificial intelligence. She also serves on the board of AnitaB.org, the Dean’s Advisory Committee at the Cal Poly University College of Engineering, and has been a board member and advisor to several technology startups. A champion for women and multicultural inclusion in technology and business, Beena has been named: one of the top 50 Multicultural Leaders in Tech, the most influential business woman in San Francisco, one of Forbes’ Top 8 Analytics Experts, and is an inductee in the WITI Women in Tech Hall of Fame.
